Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
In the club of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), I have been a member for 4 years. I joined FBLA back in August 2013, which was my Freshman year here at Lindsay Senior High School. It has taught me a lot about the business field and has made me realize that this is something I would hope to do one day.

TRiOTRiO is another upper bound program for students who come from economically disadvantaged families. I joined the TRiO program back in my junior year after hearing how great the program is. They pay you $120 for every semester for just attending tutoring sessions, Saturday sessions, and going on their trips. Not only that, they provide transportation for their summer school program at COS. On field trips to college campuses, the TRiO programs provides students with $20 each day on the trip so they can buy food to eat. The first field trip that I went on with the TRiO program was when we went to the Museum of Tolerance, UCLA, CSU Fullerton, and CSU Northridge. It was a memory that I will never forget.
ASBFrench ClubFrench club has been a club in which students can join in no matter if they spoke little french or none at all. I heard how fun french club was my freshman year so then joined in my sophomore year. We fundraised by selling chocolate over the year. Since we could not go on a field trip like we had originally planned, so we had a big BBQ at the end of the year. There was hamburgers, chips and a lot of friends to hang out with.

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)
AVID is a program that is meant to encourage students to get the mindset that they will succeed by going to college; it's basically a college prep class. It is also a program that motivates students to do well in school and in a way, they find a support system. AVID has helped me and motivated me in wanting to succeed in school so that I can have a bright future. Because of AVID, I am where I am today. I do not know where I would be if I was not in AVID. It has helped me grow and become a good role model for my siblings. I have been enrolled in the AVID program for 4 years now. I am proud to be an AVID student.
ASB is a organization that's all about leadership within the high school community. I was able to take a part in ASB my junior year of high school. I got elected to be the Treasurer for this organization. As ASB Treasurer, I reported on how the school's account was doing throughout the school year. Not only that, but due to having to work with accounts and numbers, I got familiar with the accounting field. This skill will always carry on with me just in case I do decide to major in the business field.

Art Club
REAPREAP is a scholarship program that is offered for students in high school and for the elementary schools in Lindsay. I have been in the REAP scholarship program ever since I was at Washington Elementary school. Throughout my high school career, I've been able to earn money to be used at a four year university. With this scholarship and other scholarships as well, I hope to further my education so I can be successful in the future. I wish to give back to the low income community, just like what REAP is doing at our school.
Track and FieldI was in Track and Field my sophomore year. It was the first sport I've ever been in my entire life. I had fun running the 200 meter and 400 meter rely. I also tried doing long jump along with shot put. It was a great experience to me and higher education my level of confidence within myself.

Art club was another fun club that I joined my junior here at Lindsay High School. We did fun activities throughout the year. One activity that I remember was that we were able to get Art Club shirts and tie dye them. We were able to dye them whatever colors we wanted to in whatever pattern we wanted to. We also had pizza to eat and have a good time with friends.
McDermont Team MemberI started working at McDermont in October in the year of 2016. With this job opportunity, I've learned to manage my money and use it effectively. I've also learned to deal with customers and still provide satisfaction. Balancing out school and work wasn't easy, but I've learned to become more responsible. Also, being that I am the oldest of five siblings, I wanted to be good role model. Overall, I'm very glad to be employed at McDermont since it has opened many opportunities for me.
